Issue #73
Our minds are powerful. What we imagine, think, and say can impact what we do and how we behave. Creative leaders should use their imagination not only for their creative work, but also for their personal lives. Can you see yourself as a successful parent, spouse, or friend?
Do you want to change a habit or a relationship? Begin by imagining yourself in a new role or relationship. See yourself successfully behaving in a new way. We call this positive visualization. Most of us already do negative visualization. Do you ever worry about the future? Worry is a negative form of visualization.
Through the process of visualization, we can change who we are. This is the power of positive thinking. The easiest thing in the world is to be negative. It takes a great deal of willpower to remain positive in a negative world. I challenge you to take five minutes each day and visualize successful relationships.
Skill will take a creative leader only so far. Imagination is required to make the great leaps that dramatically reshape the world.
Imagination requires letting go of the old and embracing the new, to leap from one place to another. What makes you different from others around you is your ability to imagine the world differently—to see what others don't or won't see.
Embrace your imagination and give thanks daily for the gifts that it bestows upon you. Imagination helps you to connect the dots where most people do not even see the slightest connection.
Imagination is a sacred gift given to everyone. Few know how to use their powers to the best of their ability. Many are scared by what they see and withdraw from the clutches of imagination. Let your imagination shine.
Are you unhappy with your imagination? Do you wish you were more imaginative? Do you daydream? Spend time with your imagination? Explore the ideas roaming around in your head. Let your mind wander. Visit new worlds.
Everyone can be imaginative. Sometimes, other people criticize us for being imaginative or creative. Maybe a parent? Or a teacher? Or a boss? Have you ever been told to stop daydreaming and come back to the real world? Have you ever shared an idea you had, and someone laughed at it?
The more we use our imagination, the stronger it becomes. And if we don’t use it, we can lose it.
Plant seeds of hope in the hearts of others!
