A Special Thank You Letter
Thank you for subscribing and reading Creative Seeds of Hope. I began this newsletter on January 2, 2024, with 26 subscribers, and today, I have 133. Some of you have been with me from the beginning.
In 2024, I wrote and published 53 newsletters on 53 different Tuesdays. In them, I shared 127 quotes from 101 individuals. If you want to revisit any of the newsletters, they have been archived. You can find them by clicking on this button.
I have created an index by author to help you find the issue/quote you want to read again.
We normally think of a year as having 52 weeks, and I learned that a year can have 53 days for each day of the week. Bill Kinschner, a friend where I worked for 30 years, taught me this because in certain years we had 53 pay days.
2025 Changes
1) Paid Options
In 2025, you will see a change with the newsletter. I am adding paid options when people subscribe to the newsletter. This will have no impact on your subscription. There will always be a FREE subscription option available. You do NOT have to pay to receive the newsletter.
Substack, the company that hosts and distributes the newsletter, was founded on the premise that writers should be paid for their work. Their model is that writers do not have to pay anything as long as the newsletter is free. Instead, Substack takes 10% of money raised through paid subscriptions.
There are over 35 million subscriptions to newsletters on Substack. Only about 6% are paid subscriptions which means 94% are free subscriptions. I personally subscribe to over 200 newsletters and pay for 6.
There are many freelance journalists on Substack including Dan Rather who is 93. Here is Dan Rather's Substack:
2) A Second Newsletter
I will be publishing a second newsletter, Wayfarer, in 2025. This newsletter will only be for people who enjoy reading poetry. I plan to publish some of the poetry that I have written over the last 50 years.
Have a Desire to Write?
Do you have something to say? Have you ever wanted to write and publish your own newsletter? This year might be the time to start.
Recommendations
If you have found Creative Seeds of Hope to be helpful, please recommend it to family, friends, and colleagues and encourage them to subscribe to the free version. (I believe that people should read several issues before paying for a subscription.)
