Maurice, I would love to sit down and have a awesome talk with you…I’m finding out the fun of getting older, I will be 83 in Sept. and my health is going down hill and I spend a lot of time in my recliner, but I keep marching on..We have Meals on Wheels for our noon meal and I can fix breakfast and supper..I don’t bake like I used to .I miss it…I thank God every day for all of his help.. Take care dear friend…
No doubt my goals have centered around my family. As a Pastor I had limited income and was concerned for our older years. My wife became a Nurse at age 50 and worked till 70. Many of her nursing year were for the State of Pennsylvania and all our health care has been provided by them through our retirement. I wanted to do some traveling but had to find a way. I worked with Christian Radio and took four trips to India. My wife and I led a tour to the Holy Land and traveled for free. I also led a tour to China with stops in Japan. I wanted to visit Paris. My Brother paid my way to a Billy Graham conference in Amsterdam, so I added a day in Paris at no extra expense. We used a last visit to my bother Harold in Oregon as a jumping off point for a Cruise to Alaska. We have also done 5 other cruises in retirement. My life has had so many blessings beyond my deserving.
Maurice, it sounds like traveling was one of your dreams. I have traveled to 47 of the 50 states. Many times I was traveling for business. I have also traveled to Jamaica, Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela. These days I prefer to stay home. I have always wanted to go to Japan but never made it. I have never taken a cruise.
You eat very good on a cruise plus the other benefits. Good Cruises start in most Florida Ports. My last attempt was a disaster as the data called for a birth certificate and an I'd. My Burth certificate was Canadian, and they did not accept that. My wife and daughter came home with me, but the rest of the family had a good time. No refunds.
We have enjoyed our meals, some are better then others, can’t complain I didn’t have to make lunch..ha…
Enjoyed your article and now since I am on Hospice my goals are very short term like "hoping someone will come and see me soon.

Getting old is not for sissies, Judy. What do you think of Meals on Wheels?
Thanks, Maurice. So tell me what goals you set and accomplished during your 90+ years. Or what some of your dreams were.
